    Buying Alcohol After Hours

    Post  Admin on 2011-11-13, 05:26

Live somewhere that gives you a curfew for when you can buy alcohol? There is a solution. Most municipalities do not have a law to defend against this little loop-hole. Check to make sure you are not legally culpable in your city, county or State if you do this.

Go to your liquor store after they have quit selling alcohol. They will tell you they can't sell it. That's fine, they don't need to ring it up. Pick up the alcohol you want, place the payment on the counter, make sure to cover tax, and leave. It's that simple.

Since most municipalities simply make it against the law to leave without paying for a product and a law against ringing up and creating a sale of alcohol after a certain time, it leaves a hole they usually never address.

If you leave payment on the counter, you paid for the item. Much like leaving a $20 on the table at Denny's to pay for your meal.

The cashier didn't ring up the alcohol so they did nothing wrong. They will likely call the police, however, upon being told you left the money on the counter, many police are smart enough to know that constitutes payment. The cashier keeps their job and you get to drink at home.
