    Black Out Friday

    Post  Admin on 2011-10-28, 02:29

The operation is fairly simple. Do not spend money on Black Friday. This can be extended to include Cyber Monday. The point of Black Friday is to sell obsolete stock and raise profits from the red(unacceptable) to the black(acceptable) margin. While not spending money on Black Friday means spending money on other days, which means they still get their money, this is more about getting their attention. They have come to expect a certain amount of sales on this day of tithing to corporations, conglomerates and, ultimately, the banks. Denying them this expectation, while not necessarily a wounding blow, is most definitely enough to garner their attention as well as the People's attention. Therefore, we propose this operation and invite any and all individuals and organizations to make it their own and participate.

This operation may be performed in a variety and combination of ways. It can be as simple as staying home that day or as active as standing outside the doors of the malls, Wal-Marts and other department stores with signs encouraging people to wait until another day to shop and even handing out fliers talking about the farce that is our economy and political system.

We will update this operation as more ideas, suggestions and information comes available. Please feel free to post your ideas, thoughts and suggestions on the discussion forum for the Operations section.
